Make Sure You're Not Left In The Starting Blocks In The Social Networking Race
During the first month of 2011 social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, collectively registered 2.4 billion UK internet visits and accounted for 12.4% of all UK internet traffic according to a recent report. This is a dramatic change from previous behaviour when entertainment sites were the most popular internet destinations in the UK, followed by social networks and search engines. In January 2011, the average session time spent on a social network was 22 minutes. The growth has been attributed to Facebook, which now has 30 million registered users in the UK. Facebook accounted for 56% of the UK's social networking traffic during January, while YouTube and Twitter came in second and third place respectively.
