Depression is a serious and real disease. Whereas 20 years ago it may have been frowned up on for someone to underperform, citing "feeling depressed" as the reason, these days most doctors and employers recognise depression for what it is - a bona fide, debilitating illness that people cannot help, that has nothing to do with merely feeling a "bit down" or stressed - depression is often out of the individual's control. Therefore, if you're a manager with a depressed employee, or you yourself have been diagnosed with depression, how do you deal with it in the workplace?
